Both IHHT (Intermittent Hypoxic Hyperoxic Training) and HBOT (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy) are advanced oxygen-based therapies that support recovery, performance, and overall wellbeing — but they work in very different ways.

IHHT (Intermittent Hypoxic Hyperoxic Training)

IHHT involves breathing alternating air mixtures: one with lower oxygen (hypoxia) and one with higher oxygen (hyperoxia). This process gently stresses your cells, improving how your body uses oxygen at the mitochondrial level — the “powerhouses” of your cells.
It’s non-invasive, relaxing, and performed at normal air pressure, often while lying comfortably and breathing through a mask.

Main Benefits:

  • Improves cellular energy (mitochondrial function)

  • Enhances recovery and endurance

  • Supports cognitive function and stress resilience

  • Helps regulate metabolism and sleep

HBOT (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy)

HBOT, on the other hand, involves sitting or lying inside a pressurized chamber while breathing pure oxygen. The high pressure allows oxygen to dissolve more deeply into blood plasma, supporting wound healing, inflammation reduction, and tissue repair. Note, too high oxygen have potential toxicity. See 'Oxygen Toxicity' for more info.

Main Benefits:

  • Aids post-injury and post-surgery healing

  • Supports chronic inflammation and tissue repair

  • Improves oxygen delivery to low-blood-flow areas
